FREDERICK, Maryland—During the week of April 17-21, Hood College will hold several events as part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month in conjunction with the One Love Foundation’s Yards for Yeardley campaign.
There will be information tables with exercises about healthy and unhealthy relationships Monday, April 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Whitaker Campus Center Commons and Wednesday, April 19 from noon to 1 p.m. in Coblentz Dining Hall.
Friday, April 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the community is invited to walk or run laps around Thomas Athletic Field during a Yards for Yeardley event to drive awareness of relationship violence.
The goal of the One Love Foundation is to honor Yeardley Love—a college student who died from relationship violence—by bringing an end to relationship violence through educating, empowering and activating campus communities in a movement for change. The One Love Foundation’s mission is to educate and encourage young people to stand up when they feel they are in danger and for friends and peers to speak up when they think someone is in danger.
